The UW-Air Quality Research Group's Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Laboratory (MAQML) facility is equipped with EPA method gaseous pollutant analyzers as well as meteorological monitoring. We are configured to continuously measure ozone (O3); nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and oxides of nitrogen (NOx); methane (CH4), and non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC); and carbon monoxide (CO) according to EPA approved methods.
Our state-of-the-art ambient air analyzers allow us to monitor ozone and ozone precursors where location or other considerations prevent placement of a permanent monitoring site. This also gives regulatory agencies the opportunity to scope potential monitoring locations before committing to a permanent installation.
The mobile air quality monitoring laboratory is well-outfitted, and compact enough, that it can be placed in either rural or urban setting.
