DYCOMS II photos from the
C-130 by Gabor Vali
The photos included here were taken
during the research flights of the DYCOMS II field project. For
information about the project use this link.
The photos can be viewed by following
the links below. Left clicking on a selected image will yield a
larger image in a new browser window. Use the back botton to return
to the album page. These images have been reduced in size for rapid
viewing on the screen. A copy of this reduced image can be captured
by right-clicking on the image and saving it as 'filename.jpg'. (I am
setting this up with Netscape; other browsers might function
differently). If you'd like a copy of the image at the full
resolution of the original (approx. 1000x800 pixels) go the link
shown below.
You are free to use these images for
personal use or in scientific papers. Prior to any other use, please
contact me (vali@uwyo.edu). I have not obtained releases from the
people in the photos. If anyone would like a certain photo deleted
from the collection, please let me know.
The dates the pictures were taken (not
UTC, but Laramie, Wyoming time) can be ascertained from the number
that appears under each image. The first three digits following the P
are: mdd. The rest of the number is just a serial numeration. If you
contact me, I can let you know the hour and minute the picture was
taken. For the cloud photos, view direction may be of interest, but
this is not easy to tell. There may be window borders that give away
which cockpit window was used, or the sun angle may give a rough
clue. If of real interest, comparisons with the on-board videos might
help to orient the image.
Please contact me at "vali@uwyo.edu" with problems,
questions, etc.
To obtain copies of full-resolution images (roughly 800 X 1000
pixels) please note the numbers (such as P_______.JPG) and email the
request to vali@uwyo.edu.
