The weakness of classifying climates by means of Köppen’s rules becomes evident upon considering the wide range of places which all fall into the same category, namely Cfb. Such nominal ‘homoclimes’ are tabulated below. For instance, snow is unknown in some, such as Escourt, S. Africa, whilst common in others, such as Geneva. Juneau, Alaska, records nearly 4 m of snow every year. There are also large differences in cloudiness and relative humidity.
