The spiral descents were interrupted by level, square, boxes for side- and up-looking radar scans. 1825 Conditions: multi-level overcast over LAR, as part of a deep system with the surface low to the ESE of Wyoming. 1839 Takeoff, then through cloud base at about 9500 ft. 1900 Just skimming cloud tops at 25 kft. See a few wispy cirrus above. 1904 Moving to a different location, near LAR 360/35 nmi. 1909 Start right 30-degree bank turn, descending at 200 fpm, from starting altitude of 25 kft. After a couple of turns around the spiral, we can see our own contrail above us. ???? Level box at 20 kft (finished at 1937), with up-look and side-look on EW and NS oriented passes, respectively. 1938 Re-enter spiral descent. ???? Another level box at 15 kft, with up-look and side-look on EW and NS oriented passes, respectively. 2005 Re-enter spiral descent. ????
