Just What Does the COMET Program have to Offer?
The COMET program is an established leader in providing multimedia meteorology-related educational materials with an emphasis on mesoscale processes and phenomena. The rapid evolution of delivery technology for distance learning materials has enabled us to develop cutting edge training in such a way that it not only serves our core sponsors, but also is freely available to both the academic and private sectors via the MetEd website:
MetEd currently has over 350 hours of Web-based training in its continually expanding multimedia library, and each month it averages 15,000 visitors from around the world.
This seminar will include a short overview of the breadth of resources offered by the COMET program and then demonstrations of Web-based materials for both undergraduate and graduate audiences. I will also discuss some strategies for using our materials in education and outreach, provide an overview of opportunities at COMET, and end with some of the exciting new directions and offerings we envision in the near future.
