My group focuses on using active and passive remote sensing data to study cloud macrophysical and microphysical properties. Current topics include the ice and mixed-phase cloud microphysical property retrieval based on ground-based, airborne, and satellite-based measurements. Clouds play an essential role in the Earth's climate and weather systems. Advanced understanding cloud properties and improved cloud representations in general circulation models are necessary to improve our capability to better predicate the future climate change. My past and current studies have explored the new capability of cloud remote sensing by combining multiple remote sensors or developing new technique. Recent research has been supported by
DOE ARM Program, NASA CloudSat Project, NASA AIRS validationTeaching Interests
