Raw data
- NCAR/NCEP global climate re-analysis data (1958-current), in VIS-5D and other formats, from
NCEP (climate and weather forecast models). The Climate Diagnostics Center
lets you make your own graphs of climate variables from the reanalysis:
- current model data
(all NWS models, plus ECMWF) in GRIB format, from NCEP
- surface, upper air,
satellite, model data for use in Gempak etc, from Unidata
- Surface, RAOB data for use
in Gempak, McIDAS, etc, from Florida State University (dead since 2000)
- US precipitation
and world-wide sounding data since 1949, from NOAA FSL
- World Weather Data, including
data collected in special field projects, from NCAR
- National Climate Data Center,
offering surface, upper air, and even NEXRAD data
- Offshore data: the US National Data Buoy Center
- plot your own Lagrangian trajectories
or dispersion plumes, using the HYSPLIT model and
current or archived model data
